Introduction to Information Literacy

Welcome to the Information Literacy Tutorial !!

 

Information Literacy is the process used to understand and use the information that is all around us. You will be learning how to plan a reearch paper or project, locate and evaluate resources, take notes, then create or write your paper or project. This process has seven steps. Each step will be a page in this tutorial. If you have any questions about any part of this tutorial, please talk to your instructor.

 

The steps are:

 

1. Explore and Determine your topic.

 

2. Define your topic and make a search plan.

 

3. Locate and evaluate the resources to be used.

 

4. Record the information to be used and create a Source List.

 

5. Organize the information.

 

6. Write your paper or create your project and a bibliography.

 

7.Evaluate the finished product.
